Gary Dwayne Woods

Manor - Gary Woods, age 67, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025 at his home in Manor, Texas. He was born on May 6, 1958, in Austin, Texas, to Robert and Charlotte Woods. He was a proud resident of Austin and a 1976 graduate of LBJ High School. He grew up with older brother, Ronnie, younger brother, Rob, and a posse of friends and classmates who cared deeply for Gary. Gary enjoyed the uncommon experience of graduating high school with the same boys and girls he met at Blanton Elementary School and Pearce Junior High, remaining friends with many of them until today. Gary played little league baseball and football at Bartholomew Park, a legendary neighborhood park where all the kids from the local schools knew each other and played ball together. He went on to play baseball and football in high school, where he was known for his strength and tenacity on the field.

Gary was a devoted employee of Dahill for over two decades. His amiable and friendly personality was acknowledged and appreciated by his coworkers and clients alike.

The truest measure of a life can be found in the memories left behind by those who knew us best. Classmates from Gary's graduating class at LBJ and Reagan High Schools shared these reflections:

Gary is remembered as kind, funny, always smiling and fun to be around.... He had a big smile that brightened any room he entered, and "my best childhood memories include Gary. A former piece of myself is gone. Onward, my friend."

Predeceasing Gary are his father, Robert H. Woods, and grandparents.

Gary is survived by his son, Steven Woods, daughter in law, Kate, and two grandchildren; mother, Charlotte Woods; brother, Ronnie Woods and sister in law, Terry Jo; brother, Rob Woods; and two nieces.
