Gavin Ellsworth

SELMA, N.C. >> Gavin Ellsworth, age 12, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2018 at UNC at Chapel Hill. He was born on Sept. 27, 2005 to Nicole Aiello of Michie, Tenn. and Carl Ellsworth III of Oneida, N.Y. He is survived by his two half-sisters, Sahrena and Ariyana Aiello; maternal grandmother, Shirley Albanese of Selma, N.C. and maternal grandfather, Frank Drennan of Oneida; uncle Joey Drennan of Selma, N.C.; paternal grandparents, Elaine Clark of Sherrill, N.Y. and Carl Ellsworth Jr., of Canastota, N.Y.; aunt Gabrielle Clark of Sherrill, N.Y. and several great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gavin shared many special times with the following family members who will miss him dearly, great aunt Addie Bashaw of Oneida, N.Y., aunt "Brintey" Farnach of Canastota, N.Y., great aunt and uncle Vivian and Dave Greer of Clay, N.Y., best bud Michael Helmer of Durhamville, N.Y. who was a big part of his life and all of his cousins that he played and camped with. He attended school at Seneca Street Elementary prior to moving to North Carolina in 2015 where he attended Selma Elementary. He loved to swim, play sports, and play video games.

Gavin was preceded in death by his uncle Travis Ellsworth of Oneida, N.Y.

Gavin was an organ donor and his organs have restored life's promise for other families. In memory of Gavin please consider being an organ donor as he was.

A memorial is planned for Saturday, May 26 at Carlon Field in Munnsville, N.Y. at 11 a.m. for those who knew and loved him. Please come and celebrate his life by sharing special memories of him. The family is planning on creating a reflection book of those memories and we welcome you to share them in writing. Following the memorial service honoring Gavin there will be a reception held immediately after.
