Gaylord Otterbacher, 92, of Stoutsville passed away on September 21, 2023. He was born on June 19, 1931 in Valley City, Ohio to Rupert and Grace (Shore) Otterbacher. As a man who lived a full life he also carried a huge heart for his family and friends. He was generous to a fault for anyone and everyone and always thought of others above himself. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughters Candy and Gale; son Phillip; grandson Thomas and siblings Melvin, Curtis and Jerry Otterbacher and Lois Gallapoo. Missed by his wife of 48 years this past July Barbara (Stump) Otterbacher; Loving father of Paul, Jason (Emily), Steven (Ali) and David (Dana) Otterbacher; grandchildren Stacy, Jon, Joey, Mary, Katie, Elizabeth, Jessica, Nick, Allison, Emily, Annie (Ernie), Justin, Sonya, Jon, Tyson, Nathan, Ryan, Magnus, Amelia, Lilian, Thorin, Leopold, Duncan, Payton, Kaitlyn, Hayden, Madison and Herschel; numerous great grandchildren; sister Carol Morlock and special companion Sassy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to John Wayne Cancer Foundation. Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
