OBITUARY GELSY VERNA 1961 - 2008 At her home in Madison, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the age of forty-six, Gelsy Verna passed away. Devoted mother of Clara Alicia, beloved daughter of Clara (Lanier) and Joseph Marie Verna (deceased March 15, 2008), she will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters Henri-Donald, Josefe Marie, Gaetane (Gaetan Hache), Stefan and Mahalia, her nieces and nephews Benjamin, Shabaka, Savannah, Perseus, Leontyne, Keegan, Edwige and Lydia and her many relatives, friends and colleagues. The family will gather on Friday, March 21, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at: Mount Royal Funeral Complex 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, Quebec, H2V 2P9 Tel: (514) 279-6540 www.mountroyalcem.com Funeral service to be held Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Outremont Chapel of the Mount Royal Funeral Complex. I have been a friend for several years dating back to our time at the University of Iowa as colleagues. I mourn the loss of a dear friend, and offer my deepest condolences to her family. Gelsy will always be in my thoughts. Her paintings will remind me of our deep connections.
