I recently watched the skeleton key and was compelled to look her up on wiki, Ive seen her before but finding out we've lost a beautiful character actor the yr before was intuition and I felt a deep loss for her and her talentlove and respect for a beautiful figure her whole life xxxxxxxxxx

We will miss Ms. Gena Rowlands' presence and her many contributions to her community. Ms. Gena Rowlands was an actress known for roles in such films as "A Woman Under the Influence" (1974) and "Gloria" (1980), both of which earned her Academy Award nominations for Best Actress. Also, Gena Rowlands made a TV Appearances on Monk Season 7 Episode 12, she played aka Marge Johnson Mr Monk & The Lady Next Door, which I love Monk which I used to watch it every Friday Night, I have the entire series of Monk, you could catch it on reruns. Deepest Sympathy Condolences to the Family of Gena Rowlands we are all going to missed her, yet never be forgotten, as we all mourning passing as well. I have to say we have lost a lot of very extremely talented people this year like Actress, Actor, Writers, Producers, Playwriters, Screenwriters, Comedians, Talk Show Hosts, Singers. May Gena´s legacy will still live on with Movies, another appearances on Tv Shows she did as well. Always cherish the memories that you had with he, keep them close to your heart. I have loved Gena Rowlands forever. She was such a powerhouse. My favorite movie was A Woman Under The Influence. You could not take your eyes off of her. Condolences to her family and friends. I would like to extend my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the Rowlands family. the first movie I ever saw Gena Rowlands in was "Gloria", although at the time I really didn't know who she was. "Something To Talk About", "Hope Floats" and my absolute favorite "The Notebook" are just a few of the many films in which she displayed the traits of a "True Lady" who was extraordinary, graceful, gifted and talented no matter what character she portrayed. She will never be forgotten; her name will be part of cinema history. There is no doubt that she was well loved and will be missed by all who knew her personally and professionally.

May you always keep treasured memories of Ms. Rowlands in your heart, and may you find comfort in knowing that God is aware of your pain and those who have passed on in death he keeps in his memory because all are precious in his eyes. (Psalm 116:15).

You were an enigma and so talented and beautiful and you will be so missed. Your most real movie that made me so scared was "The Skeleton Key" and I had never seen you in that type of film and your performance was spectacular. An abode to John maybe? I met you one time when I came with your nephew Jack Rowlands whose sister and he, both pretty much looked just like you. You are as they say a very down to earth person. Rest in peace and hope you and John having the best re-union.

I was an extra in the film Opening Night. I will always remember how great she was in everything she did. She and John were true actors. One of a kind. They were nuts about each other. Gena, teach them how to act up there in heaven! Go girl!!!

My first memory of Gena Rowlands was her role as Gloria. I was mesmerized by her strength and determination as a woman. I have been a fan since I was 10 years old. I learned her name after watching the movie and have been a huge fan since. I feel like I have lost a friend. Rest in peace Mrs. Rowlands. You have left your legacy on this side of earth.

It has been a sad week with the passing of Gena Rowlands. I've found myself re-watching her movies and remembering all of the wonderful moments they've brought me over the decades. I feel like I've known her almost my entire life. She was a luminous beauty with staggering talent. Yet she always seemed down to earth, kind and gracious. How lucky were those who actually got to meet her and those who could call her their friend. My deepest condolences to her family and closest friends. Her loss will be felt by us all.

Rest in Peace Gena Rowlands. For me, I first saw you in " Gloria" and I watched it multiple times. I then , years later , saw you in " Night on Earth" and that film drew me back to following your career. I watched " A Woman Under the Influence " , " Minne and Moskowitz", and " Opening Night" along with other features ( Another Woman) . Great performances. Thank you and Rest in Peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gena Rowlands when I was working in Hollywood as an actor/ screenwriter, and she was a joy to behold. I met her at Mrs. Gooches health food market in Studio City and had a lovely talk with her. She was very sweet and genuine with this wonderful way of including you in her life. Also, a remarkable talent. Hollywood could take a lesson.

Still to this day I still watch so many of her movies .
