The memories I have of Geno are endless. We met in 1976, the Forum Club. I was 15. We met again in 1988 and stayed friends ever since. I was with him a couple days before he took his final skate and scored an amazing hat trick. I miss you a lot. Malkie

We were neighbors in Agoura . Gene and I became fast best friends and it lasted all of this time......This is killing my wife Pam and I . What a character . We would go ice skating together and he would skate backwards to stay with us .

Gene and I began a friendship that started in 1976. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. I know he´s finally resting in peace and not in anymore pain. He suffered his whole adult life from the injuries of playing hockey and the many surgeries he had. Rest in peace my friend
The photos are of Gene and Glenn back in the 70´s. I´m sure they´re " up there" having good times reminiscing about those days

A loss that reminds us that time is fleeting...´Reminiscing today about Gene, summer hockey camps @ the Curling Rink when Gene & Wayne would share their hockey insights....Gene´s father Red & his old skate sharpening machine in the Texaco Station next to the Civic Arena...so much hockey history in Nanaimo´s earlier days that was a unifying force in the community. RIP Gene.

Lived in SoCal for most of the '70s, and loved that era of Kings' hockey. Gene was talented, and fun to watch!

I remember Gene as a little kid learning to skate in Nanaimo Civic Arena in the early `50s. Maybe 3 years old. He had skates with two blades on each boot. His dad, Red, used to sharpen my skates at his Texaco station next to the arena. RIP Gene.
