I and Lorie were saddened to learn of your loss, your Father Gene was a good and kind man. We will miss both Gene and Orcid Marie very much. Having been your Home Teacher for years was a honor and a privilage. We wish each of you the best and express our love to you. Know that your Father and Mother are together again and are at the Lords work still.

Dear Howard Family,

What a shock to see your dad pass so quickly after your sweet mother. It seems such a short time ago that we were writing in Orchid-Marie's guestbook. I worked with Gene at the State for 10 years or so, he was a good friend, hunting buddy, and fun to be with. We grieve with you, the loss of both parents in such a short time is devastating. Your dad told us how your angel mom nursed him through his cancer. Together the were truly the "dynamic duo." We are sad for your loss, but so happy for your parents, they could not have stayed apart for too long, they were such sweethearts and so much in love. What a lovely reunion that must have been. Rely on your precious memories, they will pull you through. We send you our love, condolences, and know that you are in our prayers.

Love,
Steve & Dianne Faurschou

Betsy and family, I am sad at the passing of your Father. I am so glad I had the chance for Elayne and I to come up to the hospital and visit Gene and also talk with you and your great husband. Thank you for letting us get to know you guys. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

It has been hard to be in Italy and not be able to attend the funeral; also to miss Orchid's funeral, as well. We didn't know your father well, but your mom was a source of love for both Elder Openshaw and I for decades. We loved her spirited ways, and enjoyed your father through her.

It will be hard on all of you to have lost them both so close together, but it will be easier for them, especially for your father. Men seem to deal wuth the loss of a spouse harder than the opposite. So, it seems a peace giving thing that they have gone so close to each other.
Our love to you all. The deaths of both of them have left a hole in our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father and grandfather. I knew your father from working with him at Zion's. He was a teacher in so many ways, not all work related. What a very unique and special man! My prayers and thoughts are with you during this time.

It is with mixed emotions that I greet the children of Gene and Orchad-Marie Howard. Grateful that they are once again together. Saddened that I didn't know Gene better. The few times that I have been able to be in his company, I always knew that he was a great person. He will be missed. It was so nice to see him sitting beside Pat Hanks on the back row of the chapel.

My love goes you all of you. You are all incredible young people. Your parents/grandparents are very proud of you.
