I was so happy to see that Genevieve’s obituary included how much she loved reading to Hadley. She was such a wonderful grandmother and reading and books were so important to her. I will miss her very much and am happy that I got to know her and Blair and Hadley at Elkin Public Library. Blair and Hadley, you and your family are in my prayers.

On October 25,2022, I lost a beloved sister-in-law Genevieve Steelman Kiser. After the initial shock, my family began to discuss what Genevieve has meant to all of us. Long before she had children of her own, she nurtured our children with love and joy. She wanted her nieces and nephews to be smart, accomplished, and athletic, but most of all to be good people who loved the Lord. We are remiss as human beings always thinking we have tomorrow to say, “I’m sorry, I love you,” but the truth is we don’t! Several years ago on the occasion of another death in the family, Genevieve sent me a beautiful thank-you note for things I had done, but the most endearing thing in the note was, “But thank you the most for loving my brother.” I believe that says it all about the kind of person she was! Love you Genevieve, we will miss you dearly! Linda Steelman and family

Genevieve had such an expressive face; you always knew she was really glad to see you. We had a quick chat at Theo's just a few weeks ago. She had Hadley with her and they were having a great time. She loved her family, and I know all the wonderful memories will keep her with you always.

So sad to hear about Genevieve, we were childhood playmates. Haven’t seen her as much for a while. Hoping that her daughter and granddaughter will have peace in the coming days.

So very shocked and sorry about Genevieve. I had just talked to her and Hadley the week before as she was playing with Hadley in the yard. She loved Hadley so much.
I will be praying for your family and if I can help you please call.

Genevieve was straight and true, generous and encouraging. She had a welcoming way, and never fake. Her face was in sync, if she was smiling the eyes were too, always genuine. Genevieve was humble, yet strong and steady. She didn't quit or give up, she set a good example of finding a better way. These were qualities I saw and admired in her. Our heart and prayers go out to Blair, Hadley, and all Genevieve's loved ones.

Deepest condolences to Genevieve's family. I remember her from both West Yadkin School and West Yadkin Baptist Church. She had such adorable pigtails at that time.

Genevieve was the best in all of us. She was quick to love and expected nothing in return. Speaking on behalf of the Steelman twins, "Gigi" taught us many things that furthered our passions in sports, family, and love of the Lord. Her willingness to help others and her love of family will forever be how we remember our loving aunt. She would always remind my twin sisters (Lyndsey & Hilary) and my twin brother (Blake) and I on our milestone achievements both academically and athletically of how proud our grandparents would be of us on those special days. This was just one of many ways that Gigi provided a connection for those that have gone before us. I could write countless remembrances of my aunt and how she loved and cared for my family but I will finish with how much I love her and how proud I am to be her nephew. We love you and it will be but a blink of the eye until we meet again. Love you always on behalf of Travis, Kendall, Harper and Brody Steelman.

While Genevieve and I were both in high school at the same time at SHS and Forbush, I did not meet her until we were both at ASU in the same dorm. She was a sweet gal, and she and I had many a laugh together with our roommates Sandy Speer Bryant and Terry Barefoot Edwards.
Prayers for her daughter, granddaughter and family. I am so very sorry for your loss.
