Like some of the other messages, I was just reminiscing about the old times and did an random search for Prof and found this. Really sad news. Prof was my mentor for my 3rd year undergrad project at UCL and got me passionate about respiratory disease which is the field I have been in ever since. Rest in Peace Prof and thank you for setting me in an amazing direction that I will always love.

I am deeply sad by knowing Geoff's tragic death after my random internet search for him which lead me to this heartbreaking news. Geoff was my mentor at The National Heart Lung Institute at The Royal Brompton Hospital in London. I learned what I am now from him. I learned from him how to speak and write scientific papers. I learned how to talk and not to be afraid when I am presenting in international meetings. I remember his support when I was giving my first presentation in ATS by telling me that " you know more than anyone else in this crowed about this subject, since this is your own research result". He helped me financially and emotionally to shape and thrive. I will miss him for ever.
Rest in peace my dear dear friend

Geoff was a member of the Parsons Green tennis club, London UK, for a number of years and was a key member of the first team culminating in a famous Middlesex Cup win. The small band of players that played during that period formed a very close bond that is still thriving to this day. On behalf of Nino, Gary, Leigh, Clive and Gino I would like to offer our deepest condolences to Geoff's family and we will miss him forever. Rest in peace our dear friend. xxx

I am very sad to hear about the passing of Prof. Laurent. He is one of the most nice person I ever met. I still remembered Prof. Laurent and Irmgard treated me to dinner in the Peak restaurant in Hong Kong. When I sent them back to hotel. It was very late at night. Prof. Laurent tried to give me money to take a taxi home.

My condolences go out to his family and friends for their great loss.

In addition to our Professional contacts, either in Edinburgh, London Paris, and elsewhere... I have many fond memories of Geoff... ...sipping whisky late at night and jogging early morning in Siena... ..having a coffee in front of Gare du Nord in Paris..
always stimulating encounters..

He will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues.

Condolences to his family for their great loss.

Geoff was an outstanding Respiratory Researcher. He was a friend, colleague, and mentor. He was always humble, and he always had the right and most appropriate questions to lead and challenge the discussion. He was a ideal scientific leader, and he will be sorely missed. My condolences go out to his family, friends, and his colleagues for their great loss.
