Four years gone... Just randomly came across something that reminded me of all the streams I watched from 2011-2019 of his, be it from Starcraft, XCOM, or 40k. Every stream was a treasure, stolen away from us too soon.

I randomly thought about you today. While I sadly never got to meet you in person, you were such a fixture of many of my formative years. A beacon of good humor, insight and motivation. I regularly go back and re-watch some of the old 'State of the Game' videos just to have a laugh.
Thank you for all that you did. The world is brighter for having had you in it.

It was your hilarious personality in combination with others kept my friends and me laughing in the 2010s. In between classes or after school we'd tune into your streams just waiting for troll games or other funny moments. Your strive to be better at SC2 is unmatched. Loved hearing your encouraging interviews on how you´re going to be better next time. Many times, you were the voice of reason for the SC2 community and many respected you. You've lived a very fulfilling life and have touched so many.

Randomly thought about you today and noticed yesterday was the 3rd anniversary. Miss the stories, laughs, and happy moments you would bring anytime I hung out in the stream or watched an event that you were part of. Thanks for all the great memories, Geoff.

I find it strange that someone I have never met constantly comes into my thoughts because I miss them. Geoff i'm still thinking of you buddy and missing your positivity each day. Great lives should never be forgotten.

I have been following Geoff since the birth of Evil Geniuses. I always admired his wit, his intelligence and his huge heart. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and whenever someone asked for his advice he would put everything else aside and give them their full attention as he delivered a wisdom that was way past his years.
I will never forget you, Geoff. You touched the hearts of more people than anyone will ever realize.

I started following StarCraft in 2007 and iNcontroL won the USA championship that year. I was already a fan before I found out we were born in the same place and both excelled in debate in high school and university (no idea how he could do both at once at Oregon State...). I stopped following StarCraft in 2017 and just picked it back up and found out tonight... Geoff was so no-nonsense in one way but warm and funny in his articulation in another... I don't know how to put it. Love to all.

I only met iNcontroL once, at DreamHack, but he was such a huge presence in the StarCraft community I think we all felt like we knew a little part of him. Here in Norway we have a saying, that "a person offers up some of himself" - meaning they don't take themselves to seriously, they can fall flat on their face and laugh about it, but they're genuine and very relatable. This was Geoff to me. Few people has made me laugh more than he has through State of the Game, The Pylon Show and his role as host and commentator at various StarCraft events. But he also contributed pretty heavy food for thought sometimes, in the more serious conversations he had with his co-hosts and guest and I always found it interesting. He is missed, so so much, by so many people who only met him at events or maybe even just online, my heart goes out to his family and friends who cherished him even more than we, the fans, did.
There is an empty space left after you, Geoff, and it can't be filled.

It's already been a year now since you've passed Geoff. The Starcraft community has missed you every day since. I'm just a random fan, but that goes double for me. It deeply pains me that you had so much more life to live and so much more joy to give us. But I'm still grateful that the world has had someone like you to look up to. You showed us how important it is to be larger than life, to live a fulfilling life. All of your family, friends, and the gaming community have lost a piece of ourselves with your passing. But we've all been enriched deeply by your life.

It's been a while, but the memory is still fresh. Geoff, your presence is sincerely missed and I refused to note anything down here because it felt like saying goodbye at the time, only to realize you're still with us day by day. You were a giant among men, a giant when it came to humility, sincerity, kindness.. I still think of you a lot, and I always will. On the outside, the people around you might look okay, but we all know, we can all feel how your presence is sincerely missed. People might not say it, people might even avoid the subject, but that's because of the impact your passing has had on our lives. We can say we'll be okay, because it is okay to know we'll be okay while being extremely sad and grieving.

"The beautiful Esports Family that we all are " Geoff once said at a Starcraft II stream (be it HomeStoryCup or WCS event). I don't remember the exact context but he made me feel it! He was truly a figure bounding those guys together. He was the men mastering Khala in real life !

Hey man, you didn't know me but I got to know you for a little bit as a commentator. Dude... you are missed. Just this week alone I found myself thinking of you many times and asked why this would happen. You were so much fun to listen to. I respect your knowledge about the game we both love.
Rest in peace man. Strength to your fam especially those nearest to you.

It has been a struggle to put words on paper. Geoff was an amazing man. He inspired me in so many different ways as he has thousands of people. I wouldn't be the man I am today without his influence. I still reflect back on his principles and the lessons he taught us all and use them nearly every day as a pillar in my life. I will miss you Geoff. There was one tweet, of all things, that I saw which was completely unrelated but resonated with me and gave me comfort. The tweet stated, "God is making moves today." And indeed he did. Can't wait to see you again.

I had the pleasure of following Geoff along his entire journey as a representative of StarCraft. As his profession switched, so too did his impact on all of our lives. We first got to see his dedication to his craft, and quickly his undeniable charisma and quick wit. He might be the funniest guy to ever grace us. Over time we got to see more of his personality flourish. It became clear that Geoff was a beacon of truth and honor. He's only 3 years my senior, but I look up to him like an older brother. I felt a special connection with him the few times we had dialogue. Like an unspoken understanding. He's an inspiration to me and I will continue to live my life doing my best to bring joy to those around me.
Loreen you raised a titan of a man. I hope that if I were to pass that I could be looked back on as someone as impactful and good-hearted as Geoff. Someone my mother would be proud of. He spoke fondly of you often and through him, I appreciate the sacrifices you made to give him the life he loved.
Though I am just a spectator, I felt the need to follow my heart and join you all at St. James to show my support and love for Geoff. It was so good to see his friends and family with him until the end. We hurt with you.
God Bless~

Going to miss his humor and the relaxed way in which he presented himself. He will be missed by thousands of people who's lives he touch personally or through gaming. A true example of how we should all hope to be given the platform to reach that many. See you on the other side Geoff.

To whom it may concern, I am a huge fan of Geoff. He was an incredible person as you all know. One in a MILLION. Geoff is a fairly famous guy, but he still took the time to reply to my messages. We talked briefly on two occasions and made me feel special. He told me never to be afraid to tell anyone that you appreciate them. We are the same age and it hits me because he and I are not so different. It made me realize my time can come anytime. Geoff, I just wanna say I really appreciate what you have done for me. I am happy I at least got to chat with you and congratulate you on the birth of your child. RIP, brother. I hope to see you on the other side. You are dearly missed. I will live my best life and do my best to give off that same energy you have given the world. THE WORLD WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!

Geoff's wonderful gift of storytelling and humour gave me countless hours of entertainment.
I was never good at StarCraft, but still felt inspired to have a go occasionally. Yet Geoff, along with other personalities in the industry made it such an enjoyable watch.
Thank you Geoff for being a shining light in this world. I never had the chance to meet you, but it's amazing to see just how many lives you touched with everything that you did.
Thank you also to Geoff's family and friends for inspiring him to follow his dreams. So sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you all x

Geoff, I really didn't want to believe you were gone.. You were always there for me and someone I could look to for advice when I was struggling. You always reminded me to stay strong and never compromise my beliefs or feelings. I will continue to be the person you wanted me to be and live by your example. You have been and will always be with me, symbolizing so much strength and courage. I love you so much and promise to give BARRISTAN the best retirement a bulldog could ask for in Salt Lake. It feels like a dream that I was given the gift of bringing you into this world, watching you grow and explore to great depth the adventure of living, and to see you become a man of such impact and heart. You challenged us on every level and together we grew. You loved us with the purest most loyal commitment. I hear your voice, I feel your hug, I believe in your faithfulness and I thank God for the gift of you. Until we meet again
May God and His Angels carry you swiftly to your final place of joy and peace.

I never met Geoff in person, but we shared something that bonded millions of us. He had a unique way expressing humor that literally made you laugh out loud. It is amazing that someone you only know from online games could have such an effect on you personally. My personal run-in to Geoff was 2010 TL-Arena IV (Broodwar). Geoff was given handicaps against players and with each game the handicaps would get harder for him. I was selected to play against Geoff for his second match. I was hyped and excited to play against a Geoff even though i was a major scrub. I played Protoss and tried so hard to make somewhat of a good game against him.... WELL that didn't happen. I tried to micro (It was atrocious), i tried to scout (I looked lost), and i tried to land a Psionic Storm (Embarrassingly missed) but the thing i remember the most is when watching the replay VOD Geoff VERY Sarcastically made a comment on my storm attempt and he said "Nice storms...." Ask you can imagine they were not nice or good but complete garbage. I laughed as i watched the replay over and over again. Those were some good BW days and I will forever cherish that small moment i got to play against Geoff. To his family and close friends please know that his loss is felt by millions and for me, i truly felt i lost a dear friend even though we never met in person. That speaks volumes for this amazing guy who touched so many peoples lives.

I want to thank all those having shaped Geoffrey the way they did because he gave it back to the world a thousand times and more by shaping the lives of so many. Now as I look back at what a great life he lived and made possible for others I'm speechless and thankful at the same time.

Thanks for everything Geoff, you always had this larger than life personality and yet remained so down to earth at the same time. I remember back in the early days of Wings of Liberty I would look up your Protoss builds for 2v2 and stuff, and getting myself to Masters because of it. I don't think anyone can quite put to words what you've done for all the different communities that you were involved in. The world has lost a great person.

I first became aware of Geoff during the SC2 beta when he began streaming. I was instantly excited by his brand of humor and strong intellect. I have watched or listened to hundreds of hours of the content he has produced over the years. It felt like I lost a friend when he passed, even though we never formally met. I can't imagine what his actual friends and family must be feeling, but the loss is enormous. My deepest condolences to all who knew or were affected by him.

As a longtime viewer of and subscriber to his stream, I have had the absolute privilege of being introduced to or kept interested in many different games and topics by the sheer force of Geoff's will, passion, and humor.
