George Bishop

BISHOP _ George Thomas George Thomas Bishop of Claresholm passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on August 21, 2008, at the age of 78 years. George is survived by his loving wife Noreen, son David (Mary) of Barons, Alberta, daughter Karin (Butch) Glimsdale of Claresholm, Alberta and grandsons Clinton and Erek Bishop and Brady and Robby Glimsdale. He is also survived by his sisters Marion and Dorothy and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by an infant son Gerald, parents Clinton and Laura, brother Duane and sister Helen. George was born July 18, 1930 in Cereal, Alberta. He worked in broadcast at CKFI, Fort Frances, Ontario, then in Seismograph Drilling prior to purchasing Bishop Service with his brother Duane in 1959. George enjoyed farming, camping, fishing, and was an active member of the curling, golf and Lions Club in Claresholm. A Memorial Service will be held at Claresholm United Church, 4803 - 2 Street West, Claresholm on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Henry Friesen and Rev. Oliver C. Seward officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George's name to the Claresholm Museum (Box 1000, Claresholm, AB T0L 0T0) or to the Claresholm Health Foundation (Box 2638, Claresholm, AB T0L 0T0).
