It is with great sadness that the family of George Wilkin Boak announces his passing on Saturday, May 25, at the age of 81. George was born in 1931 to Happy (Aaron) and Isobel Boak on the family farm, near Bruno, SK and the seeds were immediately sown for what would later become a big part of his life. George took his schooling at the Kildrum Community School through Grade 10 and then, moving to Saskatoon, finished at Nutana Collegiate. After high school, George continued to farm with his dad, Happy Boak, and his brother, Aaron Boak. At the same time, he worked on and obtained his high- pressure welding ticket. In 1953, while standing up at his brother's wedding, George met and fell in love with Alice (Crabb) Boak and it was four years later that they were married in Radisson. Shortly thereafter, George and Alice moved to the farm and started a family. We will always remember George for his unfailing love for his family, farming, the joy he shared when camping, skiing, or fishing and the razor sharp wit he demonstrated right up until a few days before his passing. George is survived by his loving wife, Alice, of 55 years; his children, Colleen Boak, Dianne (Darrell) Wingerak, Brenda (Jean) Tremel; his three grandchildren, Michelle (Colin) Olchowski and great- grandchild Drew, Paul (Kelsey) Tremel, Marcel Tremel; and brother, Aaron (Gladyse) Boak, and brother-in-law Louis Koob. He was predeceased by his parents, Happy and Isobel Boak and his sister, Mearl Koob. We love him and he will be missed forever. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George's honour to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation (1702 - 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9). A Funeral Service for George will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, first right past Briargate Road).
