I was in school with George from the first grade up to Jr. High, when they moved to Nogales. Got to be pals with Eleanor; we rode horses all around our rural neighborhood together; I spent the night at the Bond's on occasion...ever so often George would get out the trick riding saddles and show some of our group who rode horses together how to do some basic tricks on either Ole Paint or one of the white geldings, Thunder and Lightning, Paul's tandem pair. MANY great childhood and young teen memories...then briefly got to see George at a 'western industry' gathering of some sort in Scottsdale? Tucson"? that my husband Jerry Townsend and I had been invited to(Jerry was with BLM), to get to see Buck Owens perform live, many years back....late '60s, early '70s? while Jerry was posted in Safford. I had looked up the Paul Bond Boots website once I got a computer, and had 'checked in' there ever so often. I am saddened to hear of George's passing; always held hopes that I might see him and Eleanor again someday. My thoughts are with the family and friends.
