BUCKNER, Jr., George J. Age 68, of Dayton, departed this life on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born on February 17, 1947 to the late George Sr. and Dorothy Buckner. George was a graduate of Roosevelt H. S., class of '65, served in the U. S. Military from 1966 - 1969, worked at McCall Printing and retired from Chrysler/Behr Corp in 2004. He is preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Buckner Sr.; sister, Debra Buckner and a nephew, Craig Buckner. Survivors include: his wife of 46 yrs., Carol A.; daughters, Chanel Buckner, Stacy (Kerry) Miller of Florida and Danielle Buckner; grandchildren, Shanice, Sophia Miller of Florida and Alexander Buckner; siblings, Gary Buckner Sr. of Lima, OH, Cheryl (James) Rice, Charmaine (Theodore) Bowman and Charlene Buckner, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., WEDNESDAY, May 13, 2015 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave. with Rev. Walter Buckner, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment: Dayton National Cemetery. On-line condolences may also be sent to the family at www.thomasfunerals.com

To the Buckner Family, my deepest condolences in the loss of George or "Bucky" as we sometimes called him. We lived next door until my grandma passed and I will never forget how he ran me around the house with a worm. He was a funny, lovable guy and I will miss him. God bless you all.
