George Kostyra Christiansen

I have been reading an old cook book by Martha Stewart and saw the beautiful wedding photos of the Christiansen’s. They are lovely. So sorry for the loss.

Dear family
George was as far as I remember the best youth friend of Serge Siversky who passed away in 1982. Serge was a best man at George and Rita's wedding.
Today I was looking something up on Internet and encountered this very sad news of George's passing away in March 2017. George was a very special person, and over the past decennia I have often thought of him.
I wish Rita and the children strength in Iudifficult times ahead. 65 years old is just too young!

My name is Karen Christiansen. I knew for many years of Martha's brother and the connection of names. I am a Chicago, Danish Christiansen and always a great fan of Martha's. My Condolences to her and family. What a sad loss.

Rita and Family, Maggie and I were shocked and saddened upon learning of Georges passing. We will always remember Georges constant smile and kind spirit. He will surely be missed by all. Our condolences to family and friends.

My condolences to George's family. So sudden--so sad. I've known George since the 7th grade. He was a terrific person and sincere friend throughout junior high and high school. We had a lot of fun and laughs. Always enjoyed seeing him at NHS'70 reunions. I will miss him.

Dear Family: We used to visit with Ciocia Kostyra and Ed and Martha when we were children. My father and mother, Stanislaus and Maria Akielaszek were very fond of the Kostyras and Dad and Ed were first cousins. I am so sorry that George has gone on so soon, too soon. I only remember him as a boy and have not had the chance to visit with him since he was grown. I am glad my sister, Chris Fanelli was able to visit George once or twice since her mother-in-law lives in Connecticut also. Our parents died in 2003 one after the other and not a day goes by that I don't wish I could have another moment with them. I send you our love and wish you whatever you need to help you through these days ahead.

Very sorry to hear of George's passing. He was very supportive of our family when my Father and Mother passed away in 2003 and brought his Mother to my Father's funeral Mass in the Bronx. He kept in touch over the years and we will surely miss him.

My sympathy to your family. My fond memories of George go back about 25 years ago, International Remodeling Contractors. He was a great asset to the organization besides being a skilled tradesperson. George was just a nice guy.

Remembering George for the great guy he was...always so interesting, fun and friendly. Always looked forward to seeing him at our Nutley HIgh reunions and catching up with each others lives. Sympathies to his family and friends - he will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear of George's passing. We ushered together at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church for many years. It was always nice to see his smiling face. Please accept my deepest condolences.

I don't know your family. Martha Stewart, but felt like I did from watching so many of your shows. I am truly sorry for your loss and the ultimate and untimely loss to your family. Family is the most important thing in life, in my opinion. I always enjoyed the times "Big Martha" would be on your shows and her invaluable knowledge and then you'd always refer to your brother, George, and it was apparent you were definitely a family oriented people. My LOVE and prayers to you, your brother's family and other siblings.

Such great memories of Yantacaw School, hanging out on the Enclosure, ice skating on the Mud Hole, and so much more! Thank you George for being a big part of those memories for so many people, and my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

A man ready for any chor or adventure.
No physical barriers to competently unload a car full of luggage and skies. A man eager to pay immediately for services rendered. A gentleman in public and great family man. So much to look forward to at a young age of senior. Truly, shocked. Condolences to immediate family and friends who knew George well.
