GEORGE CHRISTIE _ M.D., F.R.C.P.(C) (1920-2007) "That I will lead my life and practice my art in uprightness and honor." Peacefully, in North Vancouver, on January 17, 2007. Dedicated child and adolescent psychiatrist who, right up until his admission to hospital, was writing reports and letters on behalf of his former patients, George was the embodiment of the Hippocratic Oath. He loved his patients and his patients loved him. A consummate gentleman, he treated everyone he met with kindness and respect. He will be sorely missed by his daughter, three sons, friends, and the many patients whose lives he touched throughout the 41 years of his practice in Vancouver. George was predeceased by his wise and loving wife of 50 years. His family and friends give sincere thanks and affection to Dr. Scott and the many others who provided thoughtful and compassionate care during his final days. A private family memorial is being planned. In his memory, donations may be made to the UBC Faculty of Medicine. Condolences may be sent to r.georgechristie@yahoo.ca.
