ANNIVERSARY: They were married for 56 years September 2002.

EMPLOYMENT: He was a Professor at Lehigh University in the Metallurgy and Material Science Department for 33 years, serving as Department Chairman from 1969-1977; prior he was a visiting professor at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea in 1975 and 1982.

EDUCATION: He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1941 from Brown University; 1948 received his MS degree from Stevens Institute of Technology; and 1952 received his ScD degree from MIT, Cambridge, MA.

BIRTHPLACE: Brooklyn, New York

PARENTS: The late Frederick Underwood Conard and Julia (Hand) Conard

MILITARY: He served as Commander in the US Naval Reserve during World War II in the Admiralty Islands in the Pacific Theater.

CHURCH: First Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem, PA, where he served as elder, deacon and their missions committee, and active in small group work.

ORGANIZATIONS: Member of the ASM (American Society of Metals), AAME (American Association of Meturgical Engineers), AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) and member of Sigma Xi, (an honorary scientific fraternity); longtime member of Springfield Township Lions Club; Volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Northampton County for 17 years.

Elizabeth Conard of Lower Saucon Township, PA

Gianne Connard of Alexandria, Virginia

Two Grandchildren: Lindsay and Alan

Step-Grandchildren and step-Great-Grandchildren

PREDECEASED: Brothers: Frederick and John Conard died earlier
