I served under George Coyne when he was a LCDR on the CVW-6 Staff onboard the U.S. Aircraft Carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt in the Mediterranean Sea back in 1973. I was a Yeoman and sat next to LCDR Coyne & got to know him quite well. He was an outstanding Naval Officer & Aviator, a Gentleman who had a great sense of humor. He always treated me with the utmost respect. I was very sad when I read about his passing. I also met his Wife while our Air Wing Staff was having a going away party for me as my 4 year enlistment was about to end. I was seating next to her (she was George's fiancé' at the time) I was 24 years old and I think she was about 4-5 years older than me. It was so nice getting know her...a very kind & attractive woman. And I was so happy the George finally found "the Love of his Life". I was also very sad to learn of her passing. My Heart and Blessings go out to all of George's & his Wife's Family. I am so thankful that both of them were a small part of my Life.
God Bless!

George was a fellow member of the Mount Vernon Amateur Radio Club and a good friend. George was my roommate on a number of our yearly treks to the Dayton Hamvention where we would share a room. He IS missed.
Sincerely,
