My mother and George were friends in a bygone age, in Montreal. I have a painted portrait he did of my mom in 1947. It graces my home. My mother passed away quite a few years ago as well. But her name was Ada Virginia Young. She would have been in her early twenties when the portrait was done. Sorry for your loss.

George was a friend of 4 generations of my family, my great grandparents, my grandmother, my mother and myself.. although he was not actually a relative, he was a constant in my family, and adored by all...I am grateful and proud to have several of his paintings in my home, along with a photo of him and I at my wedding 17 years ago...he was a masterpiece himself, and will be very missed, for his personality, wit and charm....

I was lucky to be part of George's Montreal circle for over 20 years. I will miss his sense of humour, wit, stories, artistic sensibility, and his keen eye for a kindred spirit; he was able to reach so many through his art and personality, that we all became part of his world of kindred spirits. He was a fine gentleman and a superb soul, and he will be missed.

It was an honour to be Mr. DiCarlo's social worker. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be sorely missed.
