Elaine Couch Brown, Kenyon classmate

September 6, 2025

I am so sorry to hear about George. We just had our 50th Kenyon reunion in May and I was hoping to see him there. Appreciate how the obituary captured the many facets of George's life.

A special memory for me was a road trip from Kenyon to visit George's brother, Tom, at Hamilton. George bravely even let me try to drive the stick shift in his car. Was it a Peugeot? I also loved meeting his parents on the trip. Decades later, my husband and I spontaneously came through Canandaigua & George kindly gave us a tour of the paper in its historic building. Such fond memories of his humor & kind nature. And I love all that he did with his English major.

My sympathies to everyone in George's family. Elaine Couch Brown

My deepest and warmest condolences to all the Ewing family, with whom we Marshes share so many wonderful memories it's impossible to list them. My wife Maria Adele joins me as we particularly remember a great visit we had when George and Cameron came to visit us in Palermo. Big hug all around, and compliments for a great obituary - just his style!

My heart goes out to the entire Ewing family at this sad time. George was beloved by so many and will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. May you rest in peace, reunited with God, dear George.
