George Lamar Ewing Jr.

George was born in Jackson, Mississippi on October 29, 1940, and grew up in the Van Winkle area. George was a graduate of Forest Hill High School and Mississippi State University and lived in Clinton since 1963. He was a member of the Homebuilders Association of Jackson, and was active in Junior Achievement, Civil Air Patrol, the Exchange Club of Jackson, and was Past President of the Jackson Jaycees. George enjoyed a career in sales, and for the past two decades built custom homes in the central Mississippi area.George was the son of the late George L. Ewing, Sr., and Lora Mae Dearing Ewing, of Jackson. He is predeceased by an infant daughter, Lora Louise Ewing.He is survived by his wife, Myrtis Gill Ewing, of Clinton; brother Louis and wife Joye of Collierville, Tennessee; brother Bert Ewing of Euless, Texas; son, George Ewing, III, of Clinton; a daughter Beth Masters, and her husband, Greg, of Calhoun, Georgia; grandson 1Lt. Parks Masters USAF and wife Ally, of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Lauren Masters, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
