Dewey was a childhood friend. Unlike most children, Dewey knew what he wanted to do with his life at a very early age and that was to bring people to Jesus Christ. I never saw Dewey again after I left Seaford, but it is heart warming to know that Dewey lived his passion for Christ and was very successful. I'm sorry I lost contact with him but I rejoice in knowing that he helped so many people.

I had not been on facebook in awhile. I was saddened when I was on today and learned of the passing of Pastor Dewey. I was a member of Shore Christian Center Church from May 1999 until I relocated back to Virginia in September of 2009. I grew so much spiritually and as a Christian being a part of the congregation and listening to Pastor Dewey's sermons. My son attended services with me and had been in Children's Church since he was 6 months old. Since I have been here in Virginia, as I said earlier, I would go online periodically to still listen to sermons and would gain so much from the messages to help get me through the weeks. Pastor Dewey was a powerful speaker and was truly anointed with the spirit. I could feel it whenever I came forward for prayer during my time at SCC. He will truly be missed. My prayers go out to Pastor Rhonda, Isaac, Diamond and his beautiful grandchildren.

As a young girl and very much involved with church activities Dewey was ever present. He was always smiling, always kind and a great guy all around. He will be missed, but is home now.!

As sad as I am to hear this news, I am glad to know that Pastor Dewey passed in his chair, ready and willing to join those who've gone before him, passing boldly to God's throne of Grace!

I wouldn't know half of what I do had it not been for the early days at SCC. Phenomenal teaching, glorious worship, and the tangible presence of God week after week, a foretaste of things to come in eternity.
Now Dewey has preceded us to where we all desire to be.... Dancing on the hills of glory.... Worshipping in the courts of the King..... Bowing before the throne of God!!
Our spirits rejoice, for we know that these things are true, but in our flesh we grieve and are saddened over the unexpected loss and early departure of a "Good" man.

Pastors Rhonda and Isaac I am so sorry for your loss I loved Pastor Dewey so much, he was a great man and did so many great things for our God and Jesus, was loved by so many and he will be missed so much by the whole world. I will always have my memories of a great man who made me, a new Christian feel so loved. Dewey was my roommate at Asbury College in Wimore, Kentucky for the fall quarter of 1967. We were together as roommates early in life an reconnected via social media about 5 years ago. We spoke by phone and, shared some memories of our brief encounter. He spoke daily of his love and devotion to Ronda. I feel honored honored to have known this man. I remember mornings waking up as Dewey was preparing for his 8 o'clock class and hearing him say as he patted after shave on his face...."Dewey Friedel, you lucky dog, don't you ever die!" We had some very good memories at Seaford, DE Senior High. During the talent show in our Senior year 1967 he played my "Smother's Brother" I was "Tommy"...also Ed Sullivan impersonator...we had a great "Act" together. I will never forget Georges' wonderful sense of humor, his bonding with me as a "country boy" from out of town and being the "big brother I never had"...God Speed George...see on the big stage one day when we can reconvene our "Act"....yours truly...your little Brother "Mark "Tommy Smothers" Dennis!... I would have loved to see you again in our adult lives....you passed much to young!...

My heart has been very heavy since I heard about Pastor Dewey's transition from this life on Monday! I cut most of my spiritual teeth at SCC! I met a lot of wonderful children of God at SCC- especially Pastor James Anan & his family. My sincere condolences to his beautiful wife Pastor Ronda & their son Pastor Issac & the entire Friedel family.

Even though I hadn't seen you in many years, I wanted to let you know what a great preacher you were and how I always felt great after Sunday service. I remember some really fun times we shared and I will cherish those. I'm glad to have known you and wish you a beautiful new life in heaven.

Pastor Dewey has been part of our family since our children met and played ball together on his championship angels team and he was the best coach you could ever hope for kind and encouraging and the best coach ever. We are such good friends with the Friedels they have been such a big part of our lives he went above and beyond at my mother's service who loved him so much and was the pastor at our son Joeys wedding,one of his star players.We love you and miss you already! I met Dewey when SCC worshipped Jesus at the Manasquan Women's Club in the Seventies. The Praise was so alive and joyful. It changed my worship in many ways. I was inspired by him, by Ronda and their church and was so touched when little Isaac came into their lives after many years of prayer. Thank you Lord, for Dewey.

The first time I attended Shore Christian Center Church in Wall, I knew it would be my spiritual home. It was here I was truly saved, filled with the Holy Ghost, and looked forward to hearing Pastor Dewey preach every Sunday. I have many memories of being touched personally by his message those days, like he was speaking directly to me and my situation. I might not have made it through those difficult times, had I not been present to hear his words inspired by the Holy Ghost. Thankfully, he was able to pass his spiritual legacy onto Isaac, who has become an amazing preacher in his own right. Love and miss you all, Pastor Rhonda, Isaac, Diamond...words cannot express our sadness that we cannot be there for you, but you are so in our hearts at this time. I'm sure he was greeted by many people who loved him and went before him to be with the Lord, and I'm sure Valerie was waiting with open arms to greet him! Much love to you all.
