George K. Garabedian

George K. Garabedian a retired firefighter for the City of Newton and US Army veteran died on Wednesday, August 8th at Kindred Hospital Northeast in Waltham. He was 78 years old. Mr. Garabedian was a US Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. During the Korean War, He fought in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. He was a member of the "Chosin Few". George was a firefighter for the City of Newton for 15 years until he retired. The beloved husband of the late Martha Christina (Brown) and father of of Laura Riley of Saugus. He was the dear brother of Charles and John Garabedian both of Auburndale and the late Ida Adams. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday August 10th at 10: 00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton Upper Falls at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment at Newton Cemetery.
