So sorry for the loss of Uncle George to all of the members of the George Getty family. He was always so funny and cared about others. We were all lucky as cousins to enjoy our aunts and uncles at the annual family picnics at South Park. He and Aunt Maw-ween always made an effort to come out to Butler County to visit with us. He will be missed.
I hope all the special memories will help family and friends with his loss.

Each one of Ben and Annie's children were a force to be reckoned with. All my life, I have been in awe of the lives lived by those seven siblings, the families they raised and the successes they had through grit, hard work and a demanding competitive spirit.
Uncle George fit right in. He and Aunt Marlene knew the names and most of the doings of all the nieces and nephews. My son Jack was married in Springfield, IL. I was shocked and delighted when I walked into the rehearsal dinner and George and Marlene were there full of Getty stories and remembrances. It was special for Nancy and me. Our condolences to the entire Getty clan. He will be missed by all of us.

I worked for George at PPG in the Tax Dept. for many years. The things I remember about George is how much he loved the practice of law. He would always take time to explain to the people who worked for him tax law. I learned a lot from George, and will never forget how much fun he was. I can hear him laugh as I am writing this. Here is is a little poem just for him.

Rest In Peace George your work here is done
One thing we can say you had a hell of a run
Your love of the law was in your heart
Oh my God we're you intelligent and smart
God bless your family they meant the world to you
They will miss you so much they won't know what to do
Now you are with sweet Marlene
You no longer do you have to dream
To be together until eternity
Respectfully

Perhaps my earliest memory of Uncle George is playing football with brother David, Uncle George and Uncle Tom (who George almost always called "T") in front of Baldwin Court. Uncle George tried to hold down Uncle Tom, whose enthusiasm tended to get away. I also remember the wonderful expressions of love George, like all the Getty children, had for his father, Benjo. Uncle George was a wonderful guy and I know he will be missed. He and Aunt Marlene were great models. Love to all the cousins.
