Sincere condolences are extended to the family of Dr. George Fenwick Jones on his passing. Dr. Jones was a luminary in Colonial Georgia research and the great body of knowledge he published is a treasure which has enabled many of us trace our German Colonial Georgia ancestors and better understand their lives. He is held in great esteem and remembered with gratitude and affection.

On behalf of the Georgia Salzburger Society, I would like to extend sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. George Fenwick Jones.

Dr. Jones was an honorary member of the Society and was one of the Society's staunchest supporters and friends. Of course, Dr. Jones authored numerous learned treatises on Colonial Georgia, including the Salzburgers at Ebenezer. His books and articles have always been considered the "gold standard" in regard to early Georgia, especially in regard to early German settlement and contributions in Georgia.

Dr. Jones' passing is a great loss to the Society and to our State. Dr. Jones will be sorely missed.

"Dr. Jones assisted my research of German Salzburger ancestry and contributed to my writing the children's book TWO BROTHERS, telling the historical story of two German immigrant children ancestors to colonial Georgia. He was a dearly beloved Patriot."
