George Joseph Obituary
JOSEPH, George D. (Uncle Sonny) - Age 94, of Mt. Morris, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. A graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Mausoleum at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4142 Flushing Road, Flint. Fr. Pierre Bassil. Those desiring may make contributions to Our Lady of Lebanon, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, MI 48532 or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
George was born August 29, 1929 in Flint, the son of George and Rose Marie (Guarascio) Joseph. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army, where he received a Purple Heart. He had resided in the Flint area his entire life. George retired from General Motors. He had been a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Flint and was currently attending Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. He enjoyed horse racing, Casinos, U of M Football and spending time with his family.
Surviving are: his sister, Louise Iaquinto of Flushing; and several loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patsy Joseph and Virginia Thomas; and brother, Raymond Joseph.
