to George and his family,

I'm not sure of the right words to say, or if there are any. I was in the white car behind you in this tragic accident. I am so, so sorry this happened. I would have given anything to be able to be at your memorial. I will never forget that night for the rest of my life, staring at our cars, praying that you were going to be ok. I pray that you did not suffer. I pray that your family is not suffering and can heal. I pray that you are at peace and are proud of the amazing legacy you have left.

with my deepest regret, I pray to you in thanks, that at 23, I can still have my life. Not a day that goes by I haven't thanked you or thought of you. I will do everything I can to celebrate your amazing life every day. I pray that one day we will meet, and I can thank you a million times over.

I have the lyrics of So Damn Lucky, "Amazing what a minute can do" tattoo'd on my foot. They played this the night of the concert. Up until this day, it had different meanings to me at different points in my life. Now I am sure of the meaning. I am sure that every time I look at it, I will be reminded of the wonderful man you are, and how life can change in a minute. I am so damn lucky, only in thanks to you.

George, may you rest in love. Thank you.

To George's Family, we are truly sorry for your loss. Mr. and Mrs. Jucha, you raised was a wonderful human being. George always walked in with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He had a huge heart and was always kind to everyone he met. Some customers may have not known his name but they remember him as the really nice man who always sat by the window. We will truly miss and never forget his smiling face caring heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest in Peace George.

I was devastated to learn that George was the person that I knew in that horrible accident I prayed the TV reporters were saying someone else's name. George was a wonderful man! So kind, so gentle, so absolutely willing to help in any way that he could. I honestly must say that I was blessed to have known him. I believe that all who knew him at all can say the same.

So sorry to hear of the death of George. I didn't know him well, but had two very meaningful conversations with him at two recycling conferences. It was clear to me that his parents and family meant the world to him. My mother passed recently and I am at peace as she was suffering. But George was so full of life...doesn't seem right. So much living yet to pack in....

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with George for years on my company's website. He was always so patient and understanding. A sweet, kind, and caring guy. He always made you feel like any problem you had was no problem at all. I will truly miss him.

George was my professor for a computer science class I took at Pitt this past fall. Honestly, I don't think I've met anyone quite like George; someone who would go out of his way, no questions asked, regardless of the time of day (or night), and for any student. I wish I had been able to talk to him a little more about life outside of teaching, but being with him for that one semester was a remarkable experience that I'll always remember.

I pray for his family and friends, and the whole Pittsburgh community. A tremendous teacher and advocate of the environment, but an even better man. Rest easy, George.

I had Professor Jucha this past year at Pitt. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. He knew how to connect with the students in a way that made them respect him, admire him, and always feel comfortable talking to him or asking for help. He also knew how to brighten his students day, whether that be giving us each Halloween goodie bags, or letting us out of class early because the weather was nice and he wanted us to enjoy it. He was such a genuinely wonderful person, you could tell he was passionate about his work and hobbies. I'm so grateful I got the chance to know him, he will be greatly missed. Prayers to all family and friends.

I worked with George several years ago. I am shocked and saddened by this loss. George was a great guy. I am very sorry for your loss. He made such a lasting, favorable impression to all who encountered. Rest easy, George.

Deepest sympathy on the sudden loss of an incredibly kind and gentle person. Got to know George through his amazing Great Pyrenees, Teddy, as I work at Moon Veterinary Hospital. They were celebrities, of sorts, in Moon as they walked the township frequently and just seeing them left you with a smile. No doubt heaven is a better place with George there though the world lost a very good soul. Prayers for his family and friends to stay strong and to reconcile peace on his loss.

Our only contact with George was when he helped set up the slide show for the St. Luke 50th reunion. But even that small interaction allowed us a glimpse into his warm and loving nature. Our heart goes out to his dear parents, George and Toni, and all of his family in this terrible, terrible loss.

George will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a kind man with a gentle nature that made you want to talk to him. He always shared words of wisdom he learned from his loving parents and he gave great hugs, just like his dad. George was a work colleague, but he was a friend as well. I will miss you my friend. Give Jackie and my mom a hug for me. May you rest in peace and may your family find the strength to carry on.

I will miss you my dear cousin and friend. You were such an amazing person and I'm glad we were able to have you in our lives. Love you so much! Jody

Always a smile, instead of a frown,
Always a hand, when one is down,
Always true, thoughtful and kind,
Wonderful memories he left behind.
