KINGSTON- George Kakoullis Jr, 65, of Kingston, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Jan.4, 2021. Born on March 22, 1955 in his hometown of Kingston, he was the son of the late George and Vasiliki Kakoullis. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George Daniel and Tara Kakoullis; his former spouse, Gloria Cuomo; his siblings, James Kakoullis, Sr,, Penny Karvounis, Elena Kakoullis; and five nieces and nephews. George loved to travel, meet people, and enjoyed telling stories. Being raised in the restaurant industry he loved everything about food, from choosing quality ingredients to sharing his creations with loved ones. His family hopes to honor him by keeping all of his famous recipes on the table and in their hearts. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A lot of fond Memories with George and Mark Olive. Would see him whenever I came back home to the area here in the Catskills. I actually did get to meet his handsome young son years ago.
In the beginning when he moved to Colorado we would talk quite frequently we actually have not been in touch for a while saddened to hear of his passing. His love for his son was outstanding I’m sure it’s a tremendous loss to young George.
