George Kirschner, 74, of Roselle, IL died following complications from a traumatic brain injury July 13, 2023.

George was the beloved husband for 48 years to Susan (ne? Theis). Devoted father of Stefanie and Markus (Arthur Roovers);

Doting Opa of Melanie and Jillian Lewis; fond brother of Maria (the late Stefan) Zimmer, Trudi Bartakovics, Konrad (Linda) Kirschner; brother-in-law of Laurie (Mike) Fischer. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Paul and Anton Kirschner and Anne Mueller.

Visitation 9:30-10:30 am Thursday, July 20th at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon St, Hoffman Estates; with Mass to follow 10:30-11:30. Interment private.

George was born in Austria on April 19, 1949 and immigrated to Chicago as a child. He was an Army Veteran of the 101st Airborne where he served in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Green-White Soccer Club and VFW Bloomingdale Post 7539.

George worked in various capacities in public works in Oak Park, Arlington Heights and Elmhurst District 205 before retiring to enjoy the roles he coveted most: best Opa and breakfast companion to his beloved friends and family.
