Daniel B. Scales KOKOMO, IN (FORMERLY OF RACINE) – Daniel Bernard Scales, age 52, entered into eternal life peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was the youngest of five children, born on January 28, 1965 to Mary L. (nee: Jackson) Scales-Hardin and the late Dan Scales Jr. in Chicago, Illinois. Daniel was a God-Fearing man, who accepted Christ at a young age, presently a Deacon at Grace Memorial Institutional Church under the spiritual leadership of Elder Milton L. Hall Jr., Pastor in Kokomo, Indiana, and his favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11-13. Daniel studied at Washington Park High School, Gateway Technical College, and was currently attending Ivy Tech Community College in Kokomo, Indiana. Daniel loved motorcycles and was an active member of the XCalibur Motorcycle Club in Kokomo, Indiana. He also enjoyed traveling, watching sports and in his younger years playing sports. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Daniel was a strong man and through his trials, tribulations, and health issues, he did not complain and trusted God. Daniel leaves a life of precious and cherished memories to his beloved daughters, Cherrelle Danielle and Janelle Olivia both of Racine, WI, his daughter’s mother, Jeralyn, two treasured grandchildren, Aaliyah Ranae and Marterries Lenell Jr., and their great grandmother Dorothy White. He was also survived by his loving mother, Mary Hardin; 3 sisters, Avis (Robert) Gamble, Gwen (Denory) Brye and Vivian “DeeDee” Scales all of Racine, one faithful brother Jeffrey (Ashley) Scales of Marion, Indiana, 13 nieces and nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and long time devoted friend John Epps, countless others and church family in Kokomo, Indiana, a loving partner Diane Whitehead and her sons, Mark and family, and Brian “BJ” his wife, and daughter, Briley. Daniel was awesome, he made me smile and laugh. I miss him, even though we weren't close I wish we could have been. He was my classmate here at Ivy Tech. He was cool, funny, and an all around great guy. I really miss him, it was like a slap to the face when our professor told us he passed away. I hope Daniel is at peace.
