I have known George and his family since we were kids. Spoke to him before this last surgery.
Eccentric, funny, sensitive and friend.
Say hello to Mom for me George. Will see you again in the future.

I had the privilege of spending time with George in 1998 when I was working at Cartoon Network. The funniest and silliest man I've ever met yet so kind and so deep.
He didn't need a script he was just funny off the cuff.
Went hunting for Folk Art in North Georgia and had soul food at a family style restaurant where we sat with a young family and the kids recognized his voice. Without missing a Beat he looked straight at the parents and said "you know Larry Flynt owns Nickelodeon".
Another trip we went to Babyland General Hospital which is the birthplace of Cabbage Patch dolls which if you want to go there with anyone you want to go with George because it's crazy on its own but he added a special layer of insanity. At the checkout counter they had these little novelty hypodermic needles that were pens but full of sparkly blue liquid and When we asked what is this The young woman behind the counter said "oh that's imagicillin" without missing a beat our friend said "Oh you mean for the imagiclap?".
Beyond Space Ghost and Beyond his silliness and wit is his incredible Talent as an artist. I was able to see amazing things he created in his home. Just things out of nothing which is pure genius. I'll never forget the "wheel of all known hernias". Rest in peace George.

George, you will be missed, but never forgotten.
I have thought of you often since you dropped out of sight and hoped that you would come back, but that wasn't meant to be. You're a true artist whose work will live on forever.
Rest easy, my friend

I have lost a wonderful friend. I'll miss the crazy voice messages he would leave when he would call, especially the ones referencing Fudgies.

George was my neighbor back in Atlanta in the 90's. We met by him asking me if I worked at Turner, which I did, and telling me he did the voice of Space Ghost. I was embarrassed not to know about Space Ghost but that started a wonderful friendship. I would visit and we would talk about his art collection, and he would show me his art in progress. George was kind, funny and interesting. Although I had not seen him in years, I can truly appreciate all he brought to people and fans, and to the art world. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends who I know must already be missing him terribly.
