Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 10, 2025.
Tazewell - George Taylor Malone, age 96, passed peacefully on April 9, 2025.

Raised in Smithville, Tennessee, George lived a life dedicated to public service, joining the Navy at the age of 18. George moved to Tazewell on assignment for the Tennessee Highway Patrol, where he met the love of his life, Georgeanna. Together, they raised five children in Tazewell. George was the first General Sessions Judge for Claiborne County and served as Claiborne County Sheriff. He was a skilled carpenter and built many homes in Claiborne County. He was also a gifted farmer and loved spending his time taking care of his crops and cattle, actively working on the farm into his 90s.

The beloved and revered patriarch of the Malone family, George was known for his never-failing moral compass, infinite wisdom, quick wit, incredible work ethic, quiet strength, charming smile, incredible memory, and his deep love of all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

George will be lovingly and forever remembered by his family, Steve Malone (Donna), David Malone, Jon Malone (Teresa), and Jim Malone, his grandchildren Annie Weed (Scott), Melinda Harris (Chris), Allison Cotton (Ian), Stephanie Malone, Andrew Malone (Alex), Alicia Malone, and Cody Malone, and his great-grandchildren, Caroline Weed, Catherine Weed, Savannah Harris, Bryson Mayes, George Cotton, and Beauregard Malone. George was preceded in death by his wife, Georgeanna, parents, Thomas and Georgie Malone, and his daughter, Elizabeth ("Libby") Watson.

A graveside service for family will be held on Sunday, April 13, at 10 am.
