I am deeply saddened to learn of George's passing and my sincere condolences to his family and close friends. Although I knew him only briefly from buying his Cessna 150 in 2011, he left a remarkable impression upon me. As Hemingway once stated, Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another. Clearly, George excelled in being distinguished and impacted countless people during his life's journey.

George, when I first heard of your condition from Renick I was sitting in a duck blind watching the sun rise. As I sat there for hours I thought of when I was young man at Campfire and all the times I turned to look in my dads direction and there you stood. It's never easy to say good bye, so I won't. You're a part of my young life and you will continue to be. I'm very sorry Renick and Cindy; I wish you both the best. And Renick, yes, I'd be delighted to make Campfire happen.

No one was like George. I knew him form the moment he entered the Gaston residence and what a ride that was. He considered each of those children his own and treated them with such kindness and love. And he treated me the same. I practically lived at their home growing up and I have such vivid memories of George sitting in the kitchen, drinking and smoking some fine cigar with a pink oxford shirt on and horn rimmed glasses. Smiling...always smiling.
George was a lovely soul who radiated humor and kindness. You will be missed.
