Mary, you and I met briefly at an art exhibit and thus you may not recognize my name. Having lost my own husband to cancer in 2003, I can understand your grief and offer you my most heartfelt condolences.

I only knew George from visiting my family in Montreal. I enjoyed the conversations we had. I remember his smile and love of life.

I was George’s classmate in Hungary between 1946 and 1951. On behalf of his schoolmates I want Mary and the children to know, that he will be remembered among us as a friend, a poet and a great person.

As a young Intern in 1980 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital I was Supervised by George. His understanding and insight into the most complex aspect of human behavior was memorable and an inspiration. He later became a Service Provider at Kahnawake Community Services. I also became his colleague at Concordia University. I want Mary and the children to know that George will be remembered as a teacher, an inspiration, a poet and a great person.
