George Flores Paz, 90, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2021. Born in Kerrville, Texas to Jose and Conception Paz on January 18, 1931, George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Following his enlistment, George worked for/with Hicks Carpet One for nearly 30 years, where he started as a tile setter then became a master craftsman. After leaving Hicks, George became a private tile contractor whose craftsmanship and artistry can be found in and around the San Antonio area in private homes, businesses, and venues like the floor of the San Antonio Museum of Art and the entrance to the Witte Museum.
George is survived by his first wife, Angelita, and their children: Yolanda (Cerda), George Jr., Lupe, Omar, Becky, Joe, Julio, and Robert.
His second wife, Lucinda, preceded him in death in 2001, and he is survived by their two daughters, Norma (Garcia) and Edis (Knoop) and his stepchildren Mario Garza, Jr., John, Sylvia, and Elisa (Vela).
Visitation will be on April 7th from 5-9pm at Palm Heights Mortuary with service on April 8th at 9:30am followed by burial at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

My good friend Mr. George Paz, remember that I went to see you while you were still here, now that you are gone all I can do is to pray for you and have a mass said for you in thanksgiving for your loyal friendship. You worked hard in this life, now you can rest in peace.
