PEARCE, George Robert "Bob"
Bob passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Regina at the age of 81 years. He was born on December 2, 1931 and was the youngest of four children. Bob was predeceased by his wife Fay and daughter Judy. He will be sadly missed by his sons, George (Joan), Rick (Terria) and Bill (Colleen); seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters Enid and Audrey; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Bob worked in the Alberta oil industry at the beginning of the oil boom in 1950. He was offered a business clearing oilfield land and building onsite oilfield storage tanks, but instead chose to come back to the family farm. While farming, he had a business with a small CAT tractor and a gravel truck resurfacing grid roads and installing culverts in the RM of Lumsden. Bob also worked as a telephone lineman for the Rose Plain telephone company and spent a couple of years doing maintenance for Woolco in the early 1970's. He continued farming for many years, but ultimately retired due to poor health. Following Bob's wishes, NO MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place. Cremation will take place with Bob's final resting place in Regina Memorial Gardens beside his wife Fay.
