GEORGE PORTILLO Obituary
Born April 26, 1957, passed away surrounded by loving friends and family on October 25, 2015. Son of Teresa Monterroza and Alfonso Portillo; father of Patricio, Amiel, Elisa, and Jonas Portillo; and brother of Ralph, Alfonso, Sonia, Tony, Henry, Annette, Kathy, and Andres. Born and raised in San Francisco and San Salvador, George was a devoted son, brother, cousin, father, uncle, friend to many, and an avid soccer player. George was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer advice, or tell a funny story to anyone who would listen. A memorial was held for friends and family on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 327 44th Street, Pgh., PA 15201, from 4-9 p.m. at the home of Alan and Nancy Lewandowski. Contributions may be made to plant trees in his honor at Schenely Park, his favorite pick-up soccer location, to the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, 45 South 23rd Street, Suite 101, Pittsburgh, PA 15203. I LOVE U UNCLE GEORGE! Uncle George taught me so much about what it means to really care about someone and was an amazing role model to have in my life. I wish I had taken advantage of every moment I had with him and will miss him a lot. His kids are amazing adults and its all due to how he and aunt barb decided to raise them, they are amazing parents and amazing people. there need to be more people in world like uncle George

George and I had the opportunity to reconnect after many decades. We were blessed to have the opportunity to laugh and talk about our teen years. He shared his love for his family.
It was a true blessing to have had George in my life. When he was my brother-in-law, he looked after me while my husband was in the service. I'm glad I was able to thank him.
My sympathy to the Portillo family. George had a good heart. I'm grateful to have had him in my life.
God bless him. May he rest in peace. Love you George.

I am so sorry for the loss of Jorge and know that you hold so many wonderful memories of him. To Barbara, Amiel, Eliza, Patricio, and Jonas, my heartfelt condolences to you all. I will always remember him through all the years. Much love.
