John Paul Ryterski, of rural Nashville, departed this life at his residence on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 2:40 p.m. after a sudden illness. He had attained the age of 20 years, 1 months and 3 days.
John Paul was born on Feb. 28, 1990, in Du Quoin, the son of Chris and Denise (Barczewski) Ryterski.
John Paul was a graduate of St. Ann Catholic School and a 2008 graduate of Nashville Community High School. He was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill. John Paul was attending Kaskaskia College in Centralia and he had been working at Krogers in Nashville for four years. He enjoyed going to the movies and being outside. He loved riding his four-wheeler, wildlife and reptiles, especially snakes.
Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Chris and Denise Ryterski; his sister, Rachel Ryterski and her special friend Jimmy Aitken of Nashville; his brother, Nathan Ryterski of Nashville; maternal grandparent, Mary Barczewski of Nashville; Paternal grandparents Jerome and Gloria Ryterski of Granite City; 10 aunts and uncles, Mark Barczewski and wife Trisha of Mt. Vernon, David Barczewski and wife Mary of O'Fallon, Mo., Mark Ryterski and special friend Amy Winn of Madison; Craig Ryterski and wife Melanie of Columbia, Carla Ryterski and special friend Patrick Kolieboi of St. Louis, Mo., Renee Chastain of Colorado, Eric Ryterski and wife Beth of Colorado, Carolyn Brinker and husband Phillip of Granite City, Michael Ryterski and wife Angie of St. Louis, Mo. and Michelle Ingrahm and husband Tim of New Douglas; his best friend, Brandon Barczewski; and numerous cousins, other relations and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Louis Barczewski.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Father Bernard Goedde officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until the service hour.
A rosary prayer service will be held at the church on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorial contributions can be made to the family of John Paul Ryterski and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements.
