George was a unique human. I was raised in Pullman and attended basketball games on campus as much entertained by George as by the game
Truly a good human that made the world a more interesting and better place.

To George´s family and friends from all walks in life, o offer condolences.
I first met him as 8th grade basketball hopeful for impending CYO league play, and we asked him to be our coach. After conference with Parrish school AD, he agreed.
That year (1962-63 season), I understood George worked 9-5 for Sun Oil Co (Sunoco), while moonlighting for Villanova University Basketball as a scout, but still he found time to coach us for 2-4 practices in late afternoon and coach a weekend game.
My family is generous to me, and so was Coach Raveling.
Learning of his death is natural life event but it hits like a punch to my gut.
George will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.

Tribute To George Raveling:
His unusual ability to develop a talented
front court player to a fundamental front
court player remains as most didactic.
May his instruction be remembered as
coupled with clean living.
