George Roberts Obituary
Born in Everett on September 30, 1951 he was the son of the late Lewis and Mary (Goddard) Roberts.
George was raised in Everett and Melrose before graduating from Billerica High School in 1969. He later served in the Army during Vietnam. He was a retired Forman for E.G. Sawyer Electric of Weymouth, Member Local 103. He was a member of the Harold O. Young VFW Post 2394 of Melrose. He enjoyed golfing and the Boston sport teams and had been a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
George was the husband of Jayne (McGillvray) Roberts. He was the father of Therese M. Ajtum-Roberts and her husband Jaime Ajtum Roche of Chelsea, Jannelle K. Roberts of Wakefield, Nicholas Roberts of Quincy, Joshua Roberts and his wife Brynne Giordano of Newton, and Coryn F. Belanger and her husband Adam of Wakefield. Brother of Nancy MacDonald of Malden, Marylou Parlatore of Everett, and the late Maureen Fabiszewski.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lahey Clinic and Medical Center, Institutional Advancement office, 42 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01805, or www.lahey.org or to Youth Villages at Germaine Lawrence, 18 Claremont Ave., Arlington, MA 02476.
