To the family of George D. Sabin, We don't always have to know a family to have empathy for them when they lose a loved one in death. I would like to express my condolences as you endure this difficult time. May the "God of all comfort", give you his peace. Our heavenly father is "near to those who are broken at heart". Also, God is there to sustain through all your anxieties "because he cares for you".

My name is Lester Borja. I grew up with George's father Walter Sabin as a close friend. We attended Walter Scott school and Hyde Park high school in Chicago. I well remember when George was born to Wally and Martha; and then Carrie (what Wally called her).
I believe that George was named after one our close friends George Stephanos, who died in 1941.
Military service separated us during WW II and sadly our paths did not cross again. I recall that Wally's handwrting was uniquely backhand, but totally legible. We were raised in hard times, but somehow managed to make lives for ourselves.
