George Sas Obituary

SAS, George Robert. With great sadness, the family of Dr. George Robert Sas wish to announce his death on April 21, 2005. He was with his wife Louise and his children Leora, Jonathan, Emily and Robin. He struggled for2 1/2 years with a malignant brain tumour. George came to London from Montreal in 1975. George received his medical degree from McGill University and was a family doctor for twenty-five years. He was an Occupational and Health Physician for St. Joseph's Hospital, 3M Canada and Kellogg's, as well as many other organizations. George was a wonderful husband and father, a true friend, as well as a caring physician to his patients. His family mourns his loss with great sadness. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years and his adoring children, Leora, Jonathan, Emily and Robin. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Sas from Montreal, his sister Magda Benedek and her husband Peter from Ottawa, and his nephews Joey and Michael Benedek. Donations can be made to the Montreal Neurological Institute for Brain Cancer Research.

Even from so far away, we share your profound grief. I (Harvey) last saw George at a Yom Atzma'ut celebration in London when I was working there. He was so proud of his beautiful family, and we know you will miss him so much. May he be a gitter beiter on your behalf.
