On behalf of my dearly departed husband Ken, I am sending belated sympathy wishes. Visiting you when George was coaching in NY was so fun and when George came to Kens memorial service wearing his super bowl ring was a hoot. Every guy in the room wanted to get an up close look. I wish you peace and happiness. Sharon Patrick

Thank you for your support and advise at the University of Kentucky in the early '70s. You had faith in me and gave me chance to play under you, I'll never forget your leadership. You were a very positive light in the midst of a struggling program. I was thrilled that your full career was extremely successful. Thank you again for helping me form my future. You were the best.

I am proud to have been his classmate at BHS. I spent time in the classroom and on the baseball field with George. He was an outstanding athlete and a great friend. He even volunteered to take some swats for me from Fr. Jerome, that took guts. My wife and I will pray for George and his family and have a mass said for him. May he rest in peace.

George & I were classmates from the 1st grade at St. Benedict's thru the 12th grade at Benedictine. He was our brightest "star" when it came to athletics. There are many fond memories of those special days we spent together. We had the opportunity to share some of them during our 2011 reunion in Palmetto, FL. George will be missed by all of us. Our sincere sympathy & condolences to Lorie & the rest of his family. May Our Lord grant George everlasting peace & happiness.

George sat next to me, our sophmore year at Benedictine. Class 2-D, I think. WE were all proud of him and his football sucess, which continued in the pros.
Do you remember in one Notre Dame game a tackler pulled his shoe off his foot and he ran the next play with one shoe on and one stocking foot.
He was fun to watch. My condolences to the entire family

My uncle, Joe Bania, coached a baseball team that George was
on, probably during George's high school days. Uncle Joe
talked about him so much that my cousin, Ken Bania and I
remember George to this day. Uncle Joe admired George so much!
