Dear Sella Family. Please accept my belated condolences. Every year or 2 I Google search my American Cyanamid Heros that also include Bill Liffers. I won the Cyanamid Golden Oval in 1985. I traveled from Hamilton Ontario to New York and received my Golden Oval pin, which I still have, from George at the Cyanamid Office in Wayne New Jersey. I still have my 8 x10 inch portrait with George and I shaking hands as I received it. Festivities included dinner and dance at The Pierre and more photos with George and Bill. It was April 1986. Included a visit to Windows Restaurant of the World Trade Centre earlier in the day.
Your husband and father was a great CEO. I feel so lucky to have met him.
Best wishes to the entire Sella Family. My thoughts are with all of you.
Regards, Steve Oliver, former Lederle Rep, Hamilton Ontario Canada.

It was the fall of 1950 ... Ferd Nadherny and I formed a touch football team for Section A ... our first game was against a George Sella led Section C ... an end run, a block I still feel, we knew this was serious.
Later Ferd + George + I played many football, bkb
games and collaborated on Titanium Metal report.
I will miss him ... sincere condolences to his family.

I learned of Mr. Sella's passing when I happened to see an article in the Princeton Alumni Weekly. I have always wondered where life took him once he retired from American Cyanamid. It was wonderful to read his legacy here & the fullness of his life. My parents, Tim & Betty Harris (of Princeton NJ), were great friends with Mr. & Mrs. Sella & in my younger days, I remember Mr. Sella. My parents have passed, with my dad more recently (a year ago). My dad talked often of Mr. Sella's athletic abilities, their friendship & the person he was. My sincere condolences & prayers to all of your family.

George and I were in the Air Force together as contracting officers stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB during the Korean War. He was a talented guy, both athletically and intellectually. It was a pleasure having known him.

To Janet and the family - I am very sorry to hear of George's passing. George was a fine person and I always enjoyed working for him. He exhibited the best qualities of a leader, was wise and even handed with all his staff and showed respect and concern for the employees of Cyanamid. May God bless him and you.

Our sincerest condolences on the passing of Mr. Sella to a better life. On a separate note, I will expand on the several pleasant experiences-remembrances we had during the times we had the pleasure of enjoying his visits to Puerto Rico, and ours in New Jersey Cyanamid headquarters.

My late husband Manfred Meyer introduced me to George Sella while he was visiting Cyanamid's Eastern European offices in Vienna. Manfred always spoke very highly of George and I too was greatly impressed by his warmth and humility, despite his great achievements. My condolences to his family.
P.S. I am just now reading the first message and was amazed to see that the comment was the same. Modesty is a virtue of great people.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember years ago George taking Jaime, myself, Michelle and some of Jaime's other friends to a restaurant on Route 206 in Andover pretty close to The Greeks on the same side of the road. He had a flannel shirt on and looked more like a farmer than a very successful businessman. I also remember before that time him coming to Kroghs in Sparta and it was the same thing. I have been friends with Jaime for years. What I admired most about George (and Janet and Jaime) was that that he was down to earth and did not have a pompous, arrogant attitude in spite of his success. To me that spoke volumes about his character.

Rest in peace George. I hope that the Sella family has some peace knowing that he lived a good life and that they are his legacy. He did not leave you. He is with you in spirit now.
