Remembering Bro. Shanks. This was a special time for him. To enter into the arms of his awaiting Father after such a painful time. He kept the faith. He endured to the end. He was a great example. He was loved and honored by many. Praying for his family as they continue on without him. What a great blessing he was to everyone.

Leona,
We remember the nice discussions with George about religious topics. He was gentle and humble as a man of God is supposed to be. He would challenge one's thinking to make sure you were thinking about your service to God. You have been such a great helpmate. Both of you have done well in your service to God. We know that God will bring peace and comfort to you as only He can. As you grieve your loss, we know you will enjoy sharing time with your family.

Leona and Family,

My deepest sympathy for the loss of a wonderful person. For the 20 or so years I have known him, he was kind, generous, and gracious. He had a very strong and loving family to support him. He certainly added a lot of spiritual meaning to my life. And, may God bless his soul.

We are so sorry for your loss. Bro. Shanks was a very unique and special man of God. Those who had the honor of being under his Pastorialship were very pevligead and blessed. In the short time that we knew him, he was an absolute blessing. He was a little essentric in his old age, but a true gem. He told it like he saw it and didn't beat around any bushes. He stood strong in the word. I always picked my husbands brain about what Bro. Shanks shared with him on his visits. He was so knowledgeable . He always came home with a new revelation or a precious nugget. It will be hard to fill the gap of one who allowed himself to be used of God. Who sacrificed so much. Who shared so much. We love his precious family and admire their love and patience they returned to him in his last days. He will be missed.
