Dr Skaff was my pediatrician growing up when we moved to the area in the 80´s. I contracted spinal meningitis when I was 16 and Dr Skaff along with Dr Tiss literally saved my life. My temperature was almost 108 when the spinal tap was done and I spent a month in the hospital, every day even on weekends, Dr Skaff made it a point to come visit me and check on my progress. His warm heart and excellent bedside manner truly set him apart from any other doctors I´ve ever met. My condolences and heartfelt thanks go out to all who loved and cared for George!

George was an amazing Physician & a true man of God - these qualities together made him such a wonderful contributor and leader in his world & beyond. The Golnick - Skaff family relationships go back to our beginnings in the Minnesota village of Myrtle.

Because my husband and I lived out of the Visalia area, We got to know George and his wife Judy through my sister, Jean (Swanson) Oliver, from Visalia. We enjoyed hearing of George’s sense of fun. My sister, Jean, has the gift of gab. She can talk endlessly and includes lots of details! Apparently, after finishing telling George about something, he told her that he didn’t need to know what time she got up, what she had for breakfast...etc.,etc., just get to the point~!!! (He said this in a joking, teasing way) Also, he told Jean that he’d heard this story many times, just a little different version of it!! Such a precious gift...a sense of humor...especially coming from a man who had to have had many difficult times dealing with pediatric cancer patients and families. Wishing Judy and family will in time have peace in remembering all the wonderful memories of George that will always be there for them.

I was so saddened to hear about #14. He was always very kind, passionate and thoughtful. He had a true calling that we appreciated. Not only did he provide excellent care to his patient's he provided support to the employees at VMC.
Know that Phillip and I will be thinking of your family keeping all of you in our hearts.

Dr. G Skaff was a great example of a human being. He was my sisters Dr when VMC was located on Mooney Blvd in the late 60’s early 70’s. My sister was 10 yrs old with a heart problems. This man would give my mom free medicine an visits when my mom could not pay. Dr Skaff, was kind an loved his patiences. He treated anybody an everyone. I, will always be eternally grateful. Rest In Peace. Respectfully. S Torres

Very sad to hear the passing of this great Doctor. Dr. Staff was my children’s pediatrician back in the early 80’s. Not only was he a compassionate and kind Dr. but he also went way above the call of duty that I witnessed with my daughter when she was 3. For that I will always be grateful and he will always hold a special place in my heart. My sincerest condolences and thoughts to his family. May the Perpetual Light shine upon him.

Dr. Skaff was my friend and my hero. He was a Christian not just in word but in his walk. He was a disciple of Christ and he was amongst the best of us. I have nothing but respect for him. To his beloved Judy, God bless you, we love you and we’re here for you.

Judy & Family,
George first made an impact on our family as we went to VMC. Between George, Dr. Galindo, and their entire team we were blessed by their wonderful smiles every time we went. That whole office seemed to resonate from George’s very caring personality.
I was touched personally as a follower of Christ by George’s leadership, dedication and heartfelt thoughts of scripture and life experiences while serving as a leader in BIble Study Fellowship. His wisdom was passed on to many younger eager leaders of Christ embracing each other as we searched thru scriptures and life. What a blessing he was!!!
George, we love you and confidently look forward to our reunion in Christ in heaven with our majestic God and Father.
Sympathies & Prayers,

Dr. Skaff was one of the kindest men I have known. He was warm and gentle except if you were not taking good care of one of his patients! He loved and cared for his patients. His life was: God, family, country and medicine. He was one of the main reasons my family moved to Visalia to work with him at VMC. The picture is at my retirement from Visalia medical clinic last year. I will miss him dearly... Rest In Peace Dr. Skaff we have you covered. Rick Strid
