George E. Yoder, 91, of Wooster died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Wooster Community Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1931 in Lancaster to Roy C. and Velma Ridenour Yoder. In 1956, he married Judith A. Goodman. She preceded him in death in 2007.

George graduated from Lancaster High School and Ohio State University with a BS in Horticulture. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955.

He worked as a greenhouse manager for 18 years and as a sales representative for a greenhouse supply company for 27 years before retiring in 1999. George was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church and the Wooster Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed volunteering at Secrest Arboretum and going to his Monday morning breakfast group.

George is survived by his children Nikki (Bob) Reynolds of Wooster, Dewey (Brendan) Ford of Worthington, Mike (Tammy) Yoder of Wadsworth and Jonna (Lee) Karan of Forest Lake, MN; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and a brother Dick (Jeanne) Yoder of TX.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, and sister Ellen (Milo) Myers.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster. Inurnment will be in Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Secrest Arboretum, 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster, OH 44691.
