GEORGES LANOUETTE Obituary
(1928 - 2012)
On February 8, after a short hospitalization, Georges passed away at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of 83.
Georges leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Monique, as well as his sister Jacqueline (Guy Lachance). He was a proud father to Josée, Marc (Lise Steppacher), Maryse, and Jean (Catherine Perron). He was most proud "Gramps" to Patrick and Melissa Lanouette; Nicole, Alexandra and Maxwell Dinsmore; and Sophie and Maximilien Lanouette. He was the cherished brother-in-law of Maurice (Nicole) and Guy (Pauline) Patenaude and the "mon oncle" to 7 nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.Georges continued working at his family Rona stores, la Quincaillerie Notre-Dame de St-Henri and le Centre de Rénovation Saint-Patrick, never truly retiring.
The family would like to thank Brigitte and We-Kan for their care and companionship to both Dad and Mom over the past few years, all of our employees as well as the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital. Visitation will be at Feron Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home, 2630 Notre-Dame West, on Friday, February 17, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Georges' life will be held on Saturday, February 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Royal St- Lawrence Yacht Club, 1350 Lakeshore road in Dorval.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the LGH or to a charity of your choice.

Dear Monique, Marc, Josée, Jean and Maryse,
We are very sad to learn the passing of one of our favorite people: George. The world would be a better place if there were more people like George.
He was a solid citizen; committed industrious, good humored, compassionate, and talented and a wonderful head of a very successful family that he and Monique have raised. The Lanouette clan is a great legacy, but that is not all. George was also a successful business leader. He greatly contributed to Rona as its president; he successfully led and expanded the third generation LaTourette family hardware business and assured its continued success through his sons.
In addition to all of these accomplishments, George had hands of gold: he could do everything: he was a locksmith, a cabinet maker, a carpenter, a welder, a mason, just to name a few of his skills. He was a great sailor, commodore of the Pointe Claire Yacht Club. With his hand he built an appropriately named 39 ft. sailing yacht “By George”. It is a masterpiece inside and out, a mark of George's uncompromisingly high standards in everything that he did.
It was impossible not to like jovial Georges. We had the good fortune of being his neighbours for many years. We will miss George.
