Rev. Harold Franklin Roberts

Rev. Harold Franklin Roberts, age 88, of Heath Road in Sanbornville, died January 31, 2009, after a brief stay at the Greenwood Center in Sanford, Maine.

Born January 19, 1921 in Wolfeboro, son of the late John H. and Alice C. Roberts, he attended Milton Mills Grammar School and was a graduate of Nute High School in Milton, Class of 1935, as Salutatorian. He was a graduate of Gordon College of Theology in Boston, MA, Capital City College in Washington, DC, studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL and held a B.S. in Theology from Tennessee Christian University in Chattanouga.

Harold worked for 30 years as a Postal Clerk with General Electric in Somersworth. He served under Methodist Conference in churches throughout New Hampshire and Maine, serving at Conway Methodist, Londonderry, Milton Mills, Sanbornville, Salem Depot, Ogunquit, York, Milton Community Church, Alton Federated, Union Congregational and North Berwick Congregational.

A member of the Union Congregational Church, he is survived by his church congregation and several dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Roberts.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday evening at 7: 00 pm at Union Congregational Church on Main Street in Union, NH with Rev. Dave Maleham, officiating. A calling hour is prior to the service from 6-7 pm at church. Interment will be in the spring at Milton Mills Cemetery.
