Georgia Magness Walker

Georgia Magness Walker, age 89, of Forest City, NC, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Holly Springs Senior Center. Georgia was born December 6, 1922 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Alonzo Magness and Alda Duncan Magness. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1939. In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked for Family Dollar and as a waitress for local restaurants. She enjoyed drawing, playing the piano and accordion and dancing. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jay Dee Johnson; one brother, Jack D. Magness and one sister, Louise Walpole. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandra Kay Tesseneer and husband, Roger of Forest City; four grandchildren, Debra Kay Arthur, Rhonda Michelle Taylor, Roger Tesseneer, Jr. and Douglas Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Erica Arthur and Harley Keeter. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
